Creating BOGO, Discount, or Buy X Get Y offers is incredibly easy with In Cart Upsell and Shopify's new improved Discount Codes.
In this article, we'll create a sample offer for a free Toaster when you buy 2 Mugs.
STEP 1 - CREATE DISCOUNT CODE:
1. Go to Discounts on your Shopify Admin -> Click the Create discount button
2. Choose the discount type that suits what you want to achieve. For this purpose, we will be using the Buy X Get Y
3. Now create your discount! In this tutorial, we will be creating a discount code. Remember, Shopify only applies discount codes at checkout. If you want the discount to be applied directly to the cart, then create an automatic discount.
Complete all the fields in the discount settings by entering the correct information. Save the discount code, and then copy the discount code.
4. Once done, you can save your discount code and head to the In Cart Upsell & Cross Sell where you would then implement the discount code. Edit the offer you would want to apply your discount on. Follow the instructions below to add the discount code in the app.
Scroll down on the Content Tab until you see the Display Options section.
Click the option that says, “Automatically apply discount code”. This will open the text field for you to paste the discount code. Paste the code that you copied earlier in the text field.
Save your changes either as a draft or as published.
