How to Add In Cart Upsell App Blocks to Password-Protected Shopify Stores

When your Shopify store is password protected, you may encounter an issue where the button in the In Cart Upsell app to enable app blocks does not work and redirects to an error page. This issue is caused by a limitation within Shopify that prevents certain actions from being completed while the store is password-protected. However, you can still add the In Cart Upsell app blocks using the theme editor. Here's how:

Steps to Add In Cart Upsell App Blocks via Theme Editor

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin panel.

  2. Navigate to Online Store > Themes.

  3. Click the Customize button next to your active theme.

  4. In the theme editor, navigate to the section where you want to add the In Cart Upsell app block (e.g., Product Page, Cart Page). For this tutorial, we'll focus on adding the block to the product page.

  5. Click Add block within the selected section.

  6. Look for the In Cart Upsell block in the list of available app blocks and select it.

  7. Click Save to apply the changes.

Repeat Steps 4 to 7 to add the app blocks to the cart page as well.

By following these steps, you can easily add the In Cart Upsell app blocks to your Shopify store, even if it is password-protected!
